South Dakota Capitol Grounds, Pierre, SD. (Six life-size bronze sculptures of soldiers from each branch of military service) Governor Bill Janklow's 1.1 million dollar memorial to the Veterans of World War II. This is the first monument to World War II Veterans by any state in the Union. Sherri and Lee worked with the state engineers and architectural design professionals and over 1,000 volunteers in the actual dedication attended by more than 35,000 citizens. |
