This work is meant to be a tribute to those first settlers' families that came to the Midwest seeking a new life and new opportunities to prosper off the land. There is a sense of family and comfort with one another, even with the horses. There exists a harmony that only a family can have when they depend, rely, and need each other for survival and to prosper. Not only an educational piece of sculpture as to the way things were, but also maybe a memorial of sorts to the brave people that came before us. |
