A beautiful Native woman came to the Dakota Sioux in a time of great despair. She was a messenger sent to teach the people of 7 sacred ceremonies and how to live a good life. She is a symbol of peace and reconciliation, and is revered not only by the Dakota Sioux, but everyone that has heard her message. This piece was selected for the SD Capitol Building Centennial Celebration with an anticipated installation date in 2010. |
